چکیده

Arachis hypogaea L. (Groundnut) production in Niger Delta, Nigeria is limited as the crop has not been well adapted to this region. This research was carried out determine adaptive capability of groundnut crude oil polluted soil. Seeds two varieties (Java and Bold Type) were planted soil with 0.8% 0% oil. Growth parameters measured every 10 days up 50 after planting. Nodules isolated from roots planting cultured YEMA solid medium further subcultured PDA obtain pure cultures. Result showed that they Java variety having optimum agronomic performance, root architecture rhizobium population. formed day shows highest number nodules formation occurred on for (32 nodules) while bold had lowest (5 nodules). Four fungal organisms identified pure-cultures penicillium chrysogenum , Aspergillus niger Mucor circinelloides Botrydiplodia theobromae . suggested ability grow could be due their fix nitrogen Further adaptation studies should covering other part Delta Keywords: Groundnut, Nodule, Adaptive Capacity DOI: 10.7176/JBAH/13-4-06 Publication date: March 31 st 2023

Comprising 34 groundnut genotypes an experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with three replication at the Research farm of Regional Agricultural Research Station, BARI, Hathazari, Chittagong during Rabi season (December 2009 to April 2010) for estimation of the multivariate analysis of divergence. The genotypes were grouped into five clusters. Cluster III contained the highest nu...

Analysis of Seed Proteins in Groundnut Cultivars (Arachis hypogaea L.)

The seed protein contents and protein banding pattern were studied in commonly cultivated groundnut cultivars. The groundnut cultivars such as ICGV00351, TMV-7, CO-4,CO-6 and TG-374 were used for quantitative and qualitative analysis of seed proteins. The protein contents varied among the different varieties of groundnut. The maximum protein content was observed in CO-6 followed by CO-4, TMV-7,...

Induced variability in quantitative characters of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.)

Groundnut genotype AK-280 was treated with EMS 40 mM, 60 mM, gamma rays 30 kR, 40 kR, 50 kR and combination treatment of EMS 20 mM + gamma rays 20 kR. The observations on various quantitative characters were recorded in M2 generation. The flowering and maturity period was not much affected. For the character height of main axis genotype showed differential response to different treatments of mu...
